Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £83.33 - £95.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and experienced Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) to join an inspiring SEN school in Lincoln. This role is an exciting opportunity to provide tailored support to students, helping them navigate their challenges and thrive both personally and academically.
Responsibilities of a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons adapted to students' emotional and behavioural needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to foster their confidence and independence.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive holistic support.
Requirements of a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH or in a similar SEN setting is essential.
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
