Teaching Assistant
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join schools across Basingstoke. This adaptable role is perfect for individuals passionate about contributing to student success and making a meaningful impact, whether on a day-to-day, long-term, full-time, or part-time basis.

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside teaching staff to provide tailored support to students, fostering a positive and productive learning environment. You will support lesson preparation, facilitate classroom activities, and help ensure every student has the chance to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

What you’ll have to do:

  • Work one-to-one or with small groups of students to provide focused support.
  • Assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of lesson materials.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Monitor and support student progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities such as breaks and lunchtimes.
  • Promote positive behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support the holistic development of students.

Teaching Assistant (TA) Qualification:

  • Prior experience working in a classroom or education setting as a Teaching Assistant is preferred.
  • Any degree in Psychology, Education, or a similar field.
  • CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare, or a similar qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working in different classroom settings.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to fostering student success.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
