Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate start
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

About the Role:

As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality physical education lessons across Key Stages. Your role will involve inspiring students to embrace fitness, developing their skills across a range of sports and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Responsibilities of the PE Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver and assess dynamic PE lessons that cater to students of varying abilities.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline and perseverance through physical activity and sports.
  • Organise and oversee extracurricular sporting activities, events and competitions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the physical and mental well-being of all students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
  • Ensure a safe and engaging physical education environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support students’ development and engagement.

Requirements of the PE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching PE across Key Stages, ideally with a strong understanding of the national curriculum for physical education.
  • A genuine passion for promoting physical health and well-being among young people.
  • Strong organisational skills to coordinate sporting events and extracurricular activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to motivate and inspire students.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health, fitness and safety standards in physical education.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
