Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (Depending on experience)

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will design and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with Special Educational Needs. Working closely with support staff and families, you will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and learning.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver personalised, engaging, and differentiated lessons that address individual student needs and learning objectives.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), collaborating with parents, carers, and specialists.
  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges.
  • Monitor student progress, adapt teaching methods, and maintain accurate records to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages self-expression, curiosity, and resilience.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay updated on best practices in SEN education.

Requirements of the SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students with diverse needs.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
