Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / April 2025
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will design and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with Special Educational Needs. Working closely with support staff and families, you will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and learning.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:

  • Design and deliver innovative, engaging, and differentiated lessons aligned with each student’s needs and abilities.
  • Develop and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in consultation with parents, carers, and specialists.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methodologies to support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Establish a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages self-confidence and resilience.
  • Collaborate effectively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your knowledge of SEN practices and interventions.

Requirements of the SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students with diverse needs.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
