About the role:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to students experiencing mental health difficulties, helping them navigate their challenges while creating a nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued and empowered.
Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:
- Offer one-to-one and small-group support to students experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to develop individualised strategies for pupils.
- Implement proactive interventions that promote mental well-being and resilience.
- Assist in managing classroom behaviours to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Act as a trusted mentor and role model, providing encouragement and promoting self-confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and concerns, ensuring all safeguarding protocols are adhered to.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Prior experience in a similar role, such as working with children or young adults with mental health needs.
- A relevant qualification in mental health, psychology, or education is desirable but not essential.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Familiarity with the national curriculum and an understanding of diverse learning needs.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
