Job Title: Tutor (Maths/ English/ Science)
Location: Southampton
Salary: £25 - £30 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start date: February 2025 start/ Easter
Contract type: Full-time/Part-time

About the Role:

As a Tutor, you will work closely with students to enhance their understanding and confidence in Maths, English, or Science. Whether preparing them for exams, supporting curriculum goals, or bridging learning gaps, your role will be pivotal in their academic success.

Key Responsibilities of the Tutor:

  • Deliver bespoke tutoring sessions to address the specific needs of students in subjects such as Mathematics, English, or Science.
  • Plan and execute engaging and interactive lessons, adapting teaching strategies to suit different learning styles.
  • Provide constructive feedback, track progress and set attainable academic goals.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.
  • Collaborate with school staff to align tutoring sessions with broader curriculum objectives.
  • Maintain thorough records of student achievements and areas for improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Maths, English, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, with a track record of delivering measurable improvements in student performance.
  • Proven ability to engage and inspire learners of varying abilities and ages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
  • An understanding of the importance of inclusivity and diversity in education.

To Work with GSL Education, you Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
