Humanities Teacher – Permanent Role – Secondary School in Southampton

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Humanities subjects (Geography, History, and/or Religious Education) across Key Stage 3 and 4
- Planning and delivering engaging and dynamic lessons that cater to students' varying abilities and interests
- Encouraging critical thinking and fostering a love of Humanities in students
- Monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and supporting academic achievement
- Maintaining effective classroom management in line with school policies
- Collaborating with the Humanities department to develop and improve the curriculum
- Contributing to extracurricular activities, school events, and wider school life
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Humanities Teacher with a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Strong subject knowledge in at least one of the Humanities disciplines (Geography, History, or RE), with the ability to teach across the subjects
- Proven experience teaching Humanities at secondary level
- Passionate about inspiring students and developing their critical thinking and understanding of the world
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A team player, willing to collaborate with colleagues to improve educational outcomes
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
