Science Teacher – Maternity Cover – Secondary School in Southampton

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and 4 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Ensuring students meet their academic potential through differentiated learning
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment
- Collaborating with the Science department to enhance curriculum delivery
- Participating in school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as required
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Science Teacher with a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Strong subject knowledge across all areas of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Proven experience in teaching Science to secondary school students
- Passionate about inspiring students and fostering a love for Science
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Highly organised, with a strong ability to plan and deliver effective lessons
- Available to cover a maternity leave role for the full duration of the assignment
