Sports Coach
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP/February 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to share your love of sports while supporting young people in their physical, social, and emotional development.
As a Sports Coach, you will work closely with schools to deliver engaging sports sessions and promote the value of physical activity in education. Your role will involve mentoring students, fostering teamwork, and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Sports Coach Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver fun, inclusive, and engaging sports sessions for students.
- Promote the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience.
- Support PE teachers in organising lessons and school sports activities.
- Provide one-to-one or small group coaching to improve individual skills and confidence.
- Manage behaviour effectively during sports activities and maintain a safe environment.
- Inspire students to develop a passion for sports and physical activity.
- Organise and assist in extracurricular sports clubs and competitions.
- Encourage students to stay active and make healthy lifestyle choices.
- Provide feedback to students to help them improve their techniques and performance.
- Support students in developing transferable skills like leadership, communication, and goal-setting.
Sports Coach Skills & Requirements:
- A strong background in sports or physical education, with relevant qualifications or certifications.
- Experience coaching or mentoring children and young people in sports activities.
- A passion for promoting physical activity and healthy living among students.
- Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills.
- Adaptability to work with different age groups and abilities.
- Enthusiasm to contribute to the school’s extracurricular sports programme.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided).
