General Supply Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £140 to £190 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP/February 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking passionate and adaptable General Supply Teachers to support schools in Sheffield. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain varied teaching experience while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

As a General Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons, inspire students, and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of regular teaching staff. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident, adaptable, and eager to make a difference in students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities of General Supply Teachers:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across various subjects and year groups.
  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Manage behaviour effectively, following the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Support students’ learning and engagement during lessons.
  • Provide feedback on students’ progress and any issues to the regular class teacher or school leadership.
  • Be flexible and ready to adapt to the needs of different schools and settings.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure effective lesson delivery.
  • Assist with marking and assessing students’ work as required.
  • Support extracurricular activities or school events when necessary.
  • Build strong relationships with students and staff to create a cohesive and supportive environment.

General Supply Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching as a General Supply Teacher in UK schools.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school environments and year groups.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for education.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
