About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create and implement individualised education plans tailored to each student’s needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), assessing each student’s unique needs and abilities, and setting specific learning goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need to succeed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being, sharing insights and strategies to support their development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported, encouraging positive interactions and a sense of community.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences, and making learning enjoyable and effective.
  • Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties to ensure transparency and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in teaching or supporting students with special educational needs is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community, creating a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Show a deep commitment to helping students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education (desirable but not essential).
