SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Andover
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that meets the unique needs of each student. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by fostering independence, confidence, and a love for learning.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, tailoring your approach to their individual needs.
  • Assist in delivering personalized education plans in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.
  • Support classroom activities by adapting materials and strategies for diverse learning styles.
  • Encourage students' social and emotional development through positive interactions.
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, sharing insights with the wider teaching team.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in educational settings or similar roles.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.

To thrive in this role, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
