SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Chandler's Ford
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide dedicated assistance to students with additional needs. This rewarding role requires a blend of compassion, creativity, and resilience to help students overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities of a SEN TA:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans tailored to meet specific student needs.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to encourage student engagement.
- Support classroom activities and modify resources to suit individual learning styles.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and SENCOs to track and promote student progress.
- Encourage students’ social and emotional development alongside their academic achievements.
- Promote and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
SEN Teaching Assistant Qualification:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, or equivalent (desirable).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
