SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Eastleigh.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted assistance to students with additional needs. Your dedication and creativity will help create an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and other learning needs.
  • Assist in implementing personalised education plans to meet individual student requirements.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure student progress.
  • Support students during lessons and with activities to enhance their academic and social development.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, addressing any challenges as they arise.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs of individual students.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, or equivalent.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable attitude towards supporting children.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
