Location: Weymouth
Pay Rate: £31,650 - £49,084 (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January / April 2025
Contract: Full Time/Permanent

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to the unique needs of students with special educational needs. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality education, ensuring each student achieves their full potential.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Craft and implement lesson plans that accommodate the varying abilities and learning styles of SEN students.
  • Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, employing effective behaviour management techniques to support student engagement and learning.
  • Work closely with parents, colleagues and external professionals to develop and implement effective support plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Stay abreast of the latest educational practices and SEN strategies, engaging in continuous professional development to enhance your teaching efficacy.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have a specialised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teacher within an SEN-based educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices, strategies and current legislation.
  • Have an understanding and compassionate approach to helping the students in an inclusive learning environment.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of special educational needs and effective teaching methodologies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to respond to the dynamic needs of the classroom.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
