We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact on the learning and development of our pupils.
Role Overview
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other members of the support team to assist students with a variety of special educational needs. You will provide tailored support to ensure that each child has the opportunity to reach their full potential in both academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Support students in their classroom activities, ensuring they understand tasks and feel engaged in their learning.
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of resources to meet the specific needs of the students.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
- Promote the social, emotional, and physical well-being of students.
- Support students during break times and extracurricular activities.
- Help manage classroom behavior and encourage positive interactions among students.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to regular assessments and reports.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and is committed to helping them thrive. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), is desirable.
- A strong understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or other developmental needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students' individual needs.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable, but not essential).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
