Teaching Assistant
Location: Romsey
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join schools in Romsey. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside teachers and contribute to the academic and personal development of students in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students in the classroom, helping them understand lesson content, and providing additional help in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Your role will be pivotal in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of lessons and classroom activities under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Assist students with their learning in both group and individual settings.
  • Prepare resources and materials for lessons, ensuring they are suitable for students' needs.
  • Foster student engagement by helping them stay on task and encouraging participation.
  • Contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Ensure students' wellbeing and safety throughout the school day.
  • Provide feedback to the teacher on students' progress and learning needs.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in an educational support role is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or equivalent.
  • A strong desire to support and nurture students' development.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexibility to support a range of subjects and age groups.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
