SEN Learning Support

Location: Verwood

Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time  

If you are an empathetic and skilled SEN Learning Support professional, GSL Education have the perfect opportunity for you in Verwood. You will play a key role in supporting students with specific learning needs, helping to enhance their academic and personal development in a friendly and supportive school environment.

In this role, you will provide personalised assistance to improve student learning and engagement across various classroom settings. Your main responsibilities will include implementing Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs), supporting behaviour management strategies, and creating an inclusive, nurturing environment that promotes positive learning outcomes for all students.

Responsibilities of the SEN Learning Support:

  • Implement Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) to meet individual students' needs effectively.
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Encourage participation and engagement from all students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure seamless support for students with special educational needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, sharing updates with the educational team to aid continued improvement.

Requirements for the SEN Learning Support:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is desirable.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient approach with a passion for supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students in a dynamic classroom environment.
  • An understanding of different SEN conditions and how they affect learning and behaviour.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
