Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Pay Rate: £30,000 - £46535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Start Date: January 2025

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage students and help them achieve their full potential.

About the Role
As an RE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in Religious Education. You will work closely with other staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students to develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities of RE Teacher
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and engage students in learning.
- Teach RE lessons to students aged 11-16.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need to succeed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
- Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of RE Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in teaching Religious Education is essential.
- Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Show a deep commitment to helping students succeed, exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.
- Relevant qualifications or training in Religious Education (desirable but not essential).
To work with GSL Education you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
