Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant in Blandford, you will be responsible for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students to develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Support Individual Learning Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEMH needs.
- Provide Targeted Support: Offer one-on-one and small group support tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance required to succeed.
- Monitor Progress: Track and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure each student is progressing towards their goals.
- Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
- Create a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Engage and Motivate Students: Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
- Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to relevant parties.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience: Prior experience in supporting students with SEMH needs is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Commitment: Demonstrate a deep commitment to helping students with SEMH, exhibiting patience and empathy.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH education (desirable but not essential).
