About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Worker in Wimborne, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and structured environment. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Worker:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans for students to create strategies and interventions tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challengesto help students understand and manage their behaviour, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Regularly observe and record students’ behaviour, ensuring they are making progress towards their goals.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting each student’s behavioural and academic growth.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and included.
  • Use a variety of behaviour management techniques to engage and motivate students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of Behaviour Support Worker:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating your understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students with behavioural issues.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with behavioural needs succeed, exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support (desirable but not essential).

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support Worker, you will need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
