SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Colchester
Salary: £83 - £100 a day
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Full-time

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? GSL Education are  seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) to join a supportive and vibrant school in Colchester. This is a full-time opportunity to make a real difference in young learners' lives.

Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary), you will:

  • Support pupils with SEN to access the curriculum.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the development of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage positive social interaction and support emotional well-being.
  • Provide one-to-one support where necessary.
  • Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

To be successful in the SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) role, you should:

  • Have experience working with children, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children succeed.
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Hold a valid Enhanced DBS check on the update service, or be willing to obtain one.
