SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary)
Location: Colchester
Salary: £83 - £100 a day
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Full time

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary) to join an inclusive primary school in Colchester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with special educational needs and help them thrive in a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities of the SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary):

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Help maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with the development of social and communication skills.
  • Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with emotional and behavioural challenges.

Requirements for the SEN Learning Support Assistant (Primary):

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Experience with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • A positive, patient, and caring attitude towards children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
