Braintree and willing to travel to Colchester or Chelmsford
£550-£700 per week
PAYE (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role
Are you a retired teacher looking for a more flexible role or a teacher seeking work that fits around your other commitments? GSL Education is partnering with a number of secondary schools in Braintree, with opportunities to cover across Colchester and Chelmsford. We are seeking qualified teachers to work as Cover Teachers or Bank Staff, offering both daily supply work and longer-term contracts.
As a Cover Teacher, you will lead lessons for around 25 students in the absence of the regular class teacher. You’ll cover classes either in your subject specialism or with pre-planned work across a range of subjects. You will be responsible for facilitating learning, managing classroom behaviour, recording attendance, and providing handovers to the absent teacher.
Successful candidates are flexible, organised, confident, and passionate about supporting students.
The desired Cover Teacher will have:
- A degree or equivalent education and UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Experience working with young people or a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong leadership skills and confidence in leading a class of up to 30 students.
- A passion for education and a commitment to providing high-quality support for young people.
