SEN Support Worker 
Location: Christchurch 
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time 
Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day(Depending on experience) 
Start Date: January 2025 

GSL Education are seeking a proactive, dedicated, and resilient SEN Support Worker with experience supporting pupils with complex needs, including assisting with personal care where required, to join a fantastic school in Christchurch. Responsibilities of a SEN Support Worker: 

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs. 

  • Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies. 

  • Promote the development of social skills, independence, and confidence in students. 

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to ensure consistent support. 

  • Create a safe and inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally. 

  • Help manage behaviour effectively, using de-escalation techniques when needed. 

 

Requirements of a SEN Support Worker: 

  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other additional needs (preferred). 

  • A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to supporting children and young people. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and colleagues. 

  • The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. 

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
