Autism Specialist 
Location: Grantham 
Start Date: January 2025 
Salary: £83.33 - £95.00 per day (Depending on experience)  

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Autism Specialist to join a school in Grantham. In this role, you will work closely with students on the autism spectrum, providing tailored support to help them navigate their learning and social development. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives by creating an inclusive and supportive environment where they can flourish. 

Responsibilities: 

As an Autism Specialist, you will: 

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism. 

  • Develop and implement individualised strategies to support students' academic and social progress. 

  • Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with autism. 

  • Promote an inclusive classroom environment, encouraging positive behaviour and social skills. 

  • Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to improve their learning experience. 

  • Assist in the development and delivery of personalised education plans (IEPs). 

 

Requirements: 

To succeed as an Autism Specialist, you will need: 

  • A strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and the challenges students face. 

  • Experience working with children with autism (desirable). 

  • Patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach. 

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents. 

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
