Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary Range: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: January 2025, 8:30 am – 3:45 pm
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Are you a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A fantastic opportunity awaits in a welcoming school in Tower Hamlets for along-term, full-time role starting in January 2025. You will work closely with students, providing one-to-one and group support to help them thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and group support for children with diverse SEN needs, fostering their learning and development.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt teaching strategies and resources.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.
- Promote positive social interactions and emotional well-being among students.
- Support children with personal care needs, if required, ensuring dignity and respect.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience in a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding and experience supporting children with SEN.
- Ability to adapt to individual student needs using a child-centred approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, proactive, and patient approach.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
