Teacher of English
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for an English Teacher to work at a Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire, starting in January 2025. This a great opportunity for Teachers looking for a flexible work-life balance, or those simply wanting a new experience.

Teacher of English responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Literature and Language lessons.
  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and students, and maintain a good relationship with all parties.
  • Manage high levels of student attainment through strong leadership and supervision.
  • To continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods.

Teacher of English Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Degree in English.
  • Possess the ability to inspire and motivate students to think critically.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide a differentiated learning experience that ensures all students make progress.
  • Engage students in a manner that will challenge them to grow and learn.
  • Have a proven track record of improving attainment levels at GCSE for English Literature and Language.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS, registered on the update service, or be willing to obtain one through GSL Education.
