SEND Primary Teacher
Location: Lambeth (SE1)
Salary: £150 - £200 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you an experienced and passionate teacher ready to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEND Primary Teacher to work in schools in Lambeth. This flexible role offers both day-to-day and long-term opportunities, with full-time and part-time positions available.

As an SEND Primary Teacher, you will create engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to the unique needs of your students. Your dedication will ensure children feel supported and valued, enabling them to achieve their potential in a safe and encouraging environment.

Responsibilities of Primary Teacher - SEND:

  • Plan and deliver creative and differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEND.
  • Support and engage students with a range of additional needs, ensuring their individual learning plans are followed.
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment to promote student progress and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively to maintain an inclusive classroom.
  • Provide pastoral care and support for students, fostering their emotional and social development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s SEND provision by sharing ideas and resources.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

SEND Primary Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification, such as QTLS or PGCE, is essential.
  • A degree in Education or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience teaching primary students with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEND strategies, including differentiating lessons and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of students.
