Special Education Needs Teacher 

Location: Bournemouth 
Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience) 
contract Type: Permanent / Full time 
Start Date: January 2025 

Are you a dedicated teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? 

GSL Education are looking for a committed Special Education Needs Teacher to join a wonderful school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives and contribute to their educational success. 

 

Responsibilities: 

As a Special Education Needs Teacher, you will: 

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons for students with various SEN. 

  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff members to create and implement individual learning plans (ILPs). 

  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. 

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students who require extra help. 

  • Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed. 

  • Promote students' emotional and social development, ensuring their well-being. 

 

Requirements: 

To be successful in this Special Education Needs Teacher role, you will need: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. 

  • Experience working with children with SEN (desirable). 

  • A strong understanding of SEN and how to differentiate learning to meet individual needs. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach. 

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.
