Learning Support Worker 
Location: Dorchester 
Contract Type: Part/Full Time 
Rates: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour(Depending on experience) 
Start Date: Immediate / January

GSL Education are seeking a committed Learning Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Dorchester. In this role, you will work closely with students, providing tailored support to meet their unique needs and help them overcome barriers to learning. If you are passionate about education and dedicated to helping students thrive both academically and personally, we want to hear from you! 

Responsibilities of a Learning Support Worker: 

  • Provide tailored support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning. 

  • Work closely with teachers to implement personalised learning plans. 

  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) in both one-to-one and group settings. 

  • Encourage the development of confidence, independence, and social skills. 

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. 

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional support when needed. 

 

Requirements of a Learning Support Worker: 

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs (preferred). 

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and school. 

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
