SEN Support Worker
Location: Christchurch
Contract Type: Part/Full Time
Rates: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour(Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education are looking for a pro-active, committed and resilient SEN Support Workerwho has prior experience working with pupils with complex needs, including providing personal care where needed, to join a fantastic school in Christchurch. Responsibilities of a SEN Support Worker:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.

Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies.

Promote the development of social skills, independence, and confidence in students.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to ensure consistent support.

Create a safe and inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.

Help manage behaviour effectively, using de-escalation techniques when needed.
Requirements of a SEN Support Worker:

Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other additional needs (preferred).

A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to supporting children and young people.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and colleagues.

The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
