Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Christchurch
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time / Part-time
Salary Scale: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to join one of our client schools in Christchurch. This role is pivotal in guiding students with behavioural challenges, helping them to achieve positive social and educational outcomes. This role is ideal for individuals who are resilient, patient, and capable of building trust-based relationships with young people.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies that support student engagement, reduce disruptive behaviour, and create a productive learning environment.
Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Worker:
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support to students facing behavioural challenges.
- Implement tailored behaviour management strategies as directed by teaching staff.
- Support teachers in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour to relevant staff members.
- Foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and encourage positive interactions among students.
Qualifications for a Behaviour Support Worker:
- Previous experience in a similar role or experience working with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative.
- A genuine interest in helping young people achieve their potential.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
