Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Poole

Pay rate: £85-£100 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Part-time/Full-time

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will ensure that students remain on task with the work set by the teacher and provide support where necessary.

Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor

  • Supervise Classes: Manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support Learning: Assist students with their work and provide additional support to those who need it.
  • Maintain Order: Uphold school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly classroom.
  • Engage Students: Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
  • Monitor Progress: Track and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student education and well-being.

Requirements of Cover Supervisor

  • Experience: Prior experience in a similar role or working with students is desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Commitment: Demonstrate a deep commitment to helping students succeed, exhibiting patience and empathy.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in education (desirable but not essential).
