Mental Health Teaching Assistant
Location: Bovington
Salary: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time/Part-Time

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA), you will support students who face emotional and mental health challenges. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and mental health professionals, you will create a safe and supportive environment that allows students to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities of a Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Provide one-to-one or group support to students with mental health needs.
  • Assist in implementing tailored strategies to enhance students' emotional resilience.
  • Work with teachers to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them feel valued and understood.
  • Monitor students' progress and report concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Experience working with children or young people with mental health needs is desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Good communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable students.
