We are currently hiring a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to support students in Key Stage 1 at a 2-form entry primary school in Greenwich.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include:
- Tailored Support: Helping students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs to achieve academically and socially.
- Inclusive Learning: Creating a positive and inclusive environment to meet the unique needs of all students.
- Team Collaboration: Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning and behavioural support plans.
- Student Development: Building strong relationships with students to promote their confidence and independence.
- Assisting across multiple age groups and learning stages when necessary.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in SEMH or SEN roles is preferred, but newly graduated individuals are welcome to apply.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A compassionate, resilient, and proactive approach to working with children.
