Rate: £12.82 to £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming SEN school in Southampton!
About the Role:
As SEN Teaching Assistant in Southampton, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Prior experience in a similar role is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
- Deep commitment to helping students with SEN.
- Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) education preferred.
To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
