Job Title: Mental Health Teaching Assistant 
Location: Wareham 
Pay Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) 
Start Date: Immediate 
Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time 

Are you passionate about supporting students with mental health challenges? GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a school in Wareham. This is an opportunity to provide essential support to students, helping them navigate mental health challenges while achieving academic success. 

Responsibilities of a Mental Health Teaching Assistant: 

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with mental health needs. 
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting activities to suit students’ needs. 
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment. 
  • Monitor student progress and offer feedback to the teaching team. 
  • Work closely with staff and external agencies to ensure the well-being of students. 

Mental Health Teaching Assistant Job Requirements: 

  • Experience supporting students with mental health or additional needs (preferred but not essential). 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. 
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices. 
  • A proactive and supportive approach to working with students.
