Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and motivated SEN Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Bournemouth. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students by providing tailored support and fostering their development in a safe and nurturing environment.
As an SEN Support Worker, you will be instrumental in helping students with SEN overcome barriers to learning and achieve success. Working closely with educators, parents, and external specialists, you will help create a supportive and inclusive learning experience for each student.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Provide individualised one-to-one or group support to students with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs).
- Modify learning resources and strategies to accommodate diverse student needs.
- Help students develop essential communication, social, and behavioural skills.
- Encourage independence, self-confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Support teachers in creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Liaise effectively with families, carers, and external professionals to provide cohesive support.
Qualifications & Experience that we’re looking for:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN as a care or support worker is essential.
- A recognised qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with SEN strategies, EHCPs, and IHCPs.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children.
- Experience managing and supporting challenging behaviours is advantageous.

- Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
