Location: Doncaster (DN1)
Salary: £94 - £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediately/ January 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students to tailor educational activities and resources to meet their specific needs.
  • Teach a range of subjects to students aged 11-16.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students to help them understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, provide feedback to teachers, and adjust support strategies, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to students’ development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment to foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and included.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to their diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements for Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in any discipline.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Show a deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education (desirable but not essential).

To work with GSL Education as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
