Nursery Teacher
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: £140 – £160
GSL Education South Yorkshire are immediately seeking to appoint a dedicated and talented Nursery Teacher to join one of their prominent client schools based in Barnsley. The potential candidate must be an experienced Primary Practitioner having had substantial involvement dealing with young children.
Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply for this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver exciting and engaging lessons tailored to nursery-aged children.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children feel valued and motivated to learn.
- Develop and implement a well-rounded curriculum that nurtures physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Track and evaluate children’s progress, offering timely feedback to parents and carers.
- Take part in school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff to enrich the overall learning experience.
- Build strong relationships with parents, encouraging open communication and active involvement in their child's education.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Primary Teaching Qualification (i.e. MUST be experienced in Primary Education).
- Strong background in working with nursery-aged children, ideally within a school or early years education environment.
- Skilled in designing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its practical application in the classroom.
- Possess a flair for planning creative and effective lessons.
- The ability to direct a team of school assistants and work as part of a wider team across school if need be.
- Willingness to attend twilight CPD and parent’s evenings when required.
- An Enhanced, Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service; or be willing to have one issued immediately.
