Educational Health Care worker

Location: Bournemouth

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm

Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Educational Health Care worker to join one of our client schools in Bournemouth. The primary focus of this role will be to provide tailored assistance, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Working closely with teachers, support staff, and external specialists, you will help deliver personalised care plans, enabling students to overcome barriers to learning and thrive academically and socially.

As an Educational Health Care Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the holistic development and well-being of students, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Responsibilities of an Educational Health Care Worker:

  • Assisting students with their educational, emotional, and physical needs in line with their individual care plans.
  • Supporting classroom activities to ensure effective engagement and participation.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to monitor student progress and address specific requirements.
  • Providing personal care and assistance where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere for students, staff, and families.

Required Qualifications for an Educational Health Care Worker:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people, as a health care worker or care worker.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A caring and patient demeanour, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a new check.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
