Care Worker
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: Immediate
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm
Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join one of our client schools in Bournemouth. This rewarding role involves supporting young learners with special educational needs, ensuring their wellbeing, and fostering an environment where they can thrive both academically and socially. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play a crucial part in helping students achieve their potential by delivering tailored care and support during school hours.
This position as a Care Worker is ideal for individuals with prior experience in care, particularly within an educational or childcare setting, who possess strong communication and organisational skills.
Responsibilities of a Care Worker:
- Provide personal care and emotional support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
- Assist in the implementation of individual care plans.
- Promote independence and inclusion within the classroom and school environment.
- Monitor and report on students' progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support for the child’s development.
Qualifications for a Care Worker:
- Relevant experience in a care role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
