Autism Support Worker 

Location: Bovington 
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour(Depending on experience) 
Start date: Immediate 
Contract type: Full Time/Part time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Bovington. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment and contribute meaningfully to the development of children and young people with autism. 

Responsibilities: 

As an Autism Support Worker, you will: 

  • Provide tailored support to students with autism, helping them engage in learning and daily activities. 

  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement individualised support plans. 

  • Foster a calm and inclusive environment that supports emotional and social development. 

  • Assist with classroom activities, sensory support, and behavioural management strategies. 

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the team, ensuring each student achieves their potential. 

  • Build trusting relationships with students, promoting their independence and confidence. 

Requirements: 

To excel as an Autism Support Worker, you should have: 

  • A genuine interest in supporting individuals with autism. 

  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with additional needs (preferred). 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • A calm, patient, and understanding approach to working with children. 

  • The ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student. 

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.
