SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bournemouth
Contract: Full Time/Part Time
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to overcome challenges and thrive in a supportive learning environment. You will assist the class teacher in tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and create an inclusive and positive atmosphere where every child feels valued.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one or group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored educational activities.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress to teachers and parents.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure that all students can access the curriculum.
  • Support with behaviour management, promoting positive and respectful interactions.
  • Assist with personal care needs, if required.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to different situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
