Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Poole
Pay Rate: £30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January
Contract: Full Time/Permanent

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled SEN Teacher to join a distinguished school in Poole. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide tailored educational support to students, helping them achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education tailored to the unique needs of students with SEN. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals, including teaching assistants, SEN coordinators and other specialists, to ensure that each student receives the individualised support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that are differentiated to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop, implement and review IEPs in collaboration with colleagues and parents to ensure targeted support.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to parents, carers and other stakeholders.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support student learning and development.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of best practices and innovations in SEN education.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) with a specialisation or additional qualification in Special Educational Needs.
  • Proven experience working as an SEN Teacher or in a similar role, with a track record of improving educational outcomes for students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students with SEN.
  • The ability to adapt to various situations and respond effectively to the needs of individual students.

What Do We Want From You: To thrive in these roles, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps)
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
