Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time / part-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Support Worker to join our team in Dorchester. This is a rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference, supporting students with various additional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

In this position, you will work alongside teachers and other support staff to provide essential guidance to students with special educational needs, helping them develop their confidence, skills, and independence in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, adapting assistance to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers in lesson planning and delivery, focusing on inclusive education practices.
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, providing regular updates to the teaching team.
  • Engage in developing and implementing individualised support plans to aid student development.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment, encouraging positive interactions and participation.
  • Liaise with parents and caregivers, maintaining clear communication about student progress.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or as a SEN Support Worker, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students who have additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of various SEN strategies and approaches, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Adaptability to work across different classroom settings and with a range of learning needs.
