About the Role:
As a SEN Learning Support, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised assistance to students with a variety of special educational needs. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with teachers, SEN coordinators and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
SEN Learning Support Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
- Assist students in engaging with and understanding lesson materials, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs.
- Collaborate with the teacher to deliver lessons that are accessible and engaging for all students.
- Track and monitor students' progress, adjusting support techniques to meet their evolving learning needs.
- Work alongside the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the best support is provided to students with SEN.
SEN Learning Support Job Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Learning Support are highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with children or young adults with SEN is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students with SEN.
- The ability to adapt to various situations and respond effectively to the needs of individual students.
- Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
