Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Havant
Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are on the lookout for a committed SEN Learning Support professional to join a renowned school in Havant. This position involves a commitment to providing tailored support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As an SEN Learning Support, you will provide vital support to students with Special Education Needs, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed to thrive. Your contributions will play a crucial part in creating an inclusive atmosphere where every student can excel.

SEN Learning Support Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one or small group assistance, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Partner with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans and strategies.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies, ensuring a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Assist in creating and adapting learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a supportive environment that promotes confidence and independence among students.

SEN Learning Support Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children or young adults with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or Learning Support are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students with SEN.
  • The ability to adapt to various situations and respond effectively to the needs of individual students.
  • Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
